Mayank Tehlan paved the way for an India Under-19 victory with a five-wicket haul, but England's bowlers fought admirably to make India's path a bumpy one. But Ankit Rawat's patient 69 took his team past England's low total of 169 by three wickets, and helped them lead the series 2-0.
Steven Davies won the toss and chose to bat first at Agartala, but soon found his side in trouble after he was dismissed for 22 (54 for 3). Gaurav Dhiman had prised out two of the three wickets, and once he was taken out of the attack, the damage didn't stop. Tehlan took over and dismissed five batsmen in an eight-over spell to end with 5 for 25.
India's start was worse. At 38 for 3 after 12 overs, they were in danger of conceding their lead in the series. However, Rawat stood firm and bided his time, while the others played around him. He was involved in an 81-run stand with Ravikant Shukla (32) that took them to 147. But then both batsmen fell in quick succession, opening a window of opportunity for England to sneak through. It was then left to Piyush Chawla and Dhiman to gently shut the window, and take India home with four overs to spare.
